The Cloud & Systems Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, monitoring, and maintenance of STARLIMS AWS cloud infrastructure, Windows Server environment, and Microsoft 365/Entra ID platform. This role also plays a hands-on part in deploying and maintaining the STARLIMS application, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across all systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• AWS Infrastructure Monitoring & Management
• Monitor AWS environments for performance, availability, and cost anomalies across multiple accounts
• Respond to CloudWatch alarms, health events, and infrastructure incidents in a timely manner
• Manage EC2 instances, ECS services, RDS databases, S3 buckets, IAM roles, and supporting resources
• Assist with infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation / Terraform / Pulumi) deployments and updates
• Support backup, DR, and business continuity processes for cloud workloads
• Windows Server Monitoring & Maintenance
• Administer Windows Server environments hosted on EC2
• Monitor server health, disk utilization, event logs, and system performance
• Perform routine maintenance including updates, reboots, and capacity planning
• Troubleshoot OS-level issues including service failures, driver conflicts, and cluster events
• STARLIMS Application Installation & Maintenance
• Install, configure, and upgrade the STARLIMS LIMS application across environments (dev, test, production)
• Maintain application services, connectivity, and configuration files
• Coordinate with the STARLIMS professional services and support teams on patches, hotfixes, and version upgrades
• Troubleshoot application issues in collaboration with development, support and QA teams
• Entra ID & Identity Management
• Manage user lifecycle in Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD): provisioning, deprovisioning, group membership
• Administer SSO integrations, app registrations, and conditional access policies
• Support role-based access control (RBAC) and least-privilege principles across cloud and SaaS platforms
• Assist with Entra ID custom attribute management for contractors and external users
• Microsoft 365 & Intune Management
• Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive
• Manage endpoint devices and compliance policies via Microsoft Intune and Endpoint Manager
• Apply and maintain Microsoft 365 security baselines, DLP policies, and audit logging
• Support Office 365 licensing, service health monitoring, and user-facing issue resolution
• On-Premises Active Directory Management
• Manage on-premises Active Directory: user accounts, OUs, GPOs, and group policies
• Maintain AD-to-Entra ID sync (Entra Connect) and resolve synchronization issues
• Support DNS, DHCP, and file share permissions tied to AD infrastructure
• Assist with domain controller health monitoring and replication troubleshooting
• Patch Management
• Execute patching cycles for Windows servers, EC2 instances, and endpoints on a defined cadence
• Use AWS Systems Manager Patch Manager and Automox for patch orchestration
• Test patches in non-production environments prior to production rollout
• Maintain patch compliance reporting and escalate exceptions to the security team

Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of experience in a systems administration, cloud operations, or IT infrastructure role
• Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, ECS, or similar services)
• Strong working knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022/2025) administration
• Experience with Microsoft 365 administration and the M365 Admin Center
• Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) user and group management
• Experience managing on-premises Active Directory in a business environment
• Understanding of patch management processes and tools
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to communicate technical issues clearly

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with SonicWall firewalls: policy management, VPN configuration, and security rules
• Familiarity with AWS networking concepts including Transit Gateway, Site-to-Site VPN, VPC peering, and routing
• Experience with Microsoft Intune device compliance and endpoint configuration profiles
• Exposure to IaC tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Pulumi, or Terraform
• Scripting experience in PowerShell or Python for automation tasks
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Sumo Logic, Datadog, or CloudWatch for log analysis, alerting, and dashboards
• Familiarity with SIEM platforms (e.g., Sumo Logic, Microsoft Sentinel) or security monitoring workflows
• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner)

Education:

• Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
